Review and manage flashcards offline in the installed standalone app. The separate Android app also translates with language packs you download in advance.

What works offline

Install the web app from your browser before going offline. Offline translation requires the separate Android app from Google Play.

  • Study your cards

    Review cards with spaced repetition in Text, Listening and Typing modes, or listen through a deck with Playback. Works in the installed app.

  • Manage cards and decks

    Open your saved decks, add or edit cards, and organize them while offline in the installed app.

  • Translate on Android

    In the separate Android app, download packs for the languages you need while online. Then translate text without a connection. Offline results may be less accurate than online results.

  • Hear pronunciation

    Play pronunciation during translation or study and use Playback offline. When the selected voice needs a connection, Rememberry automatically uses an offline voice for the language if one is available. Voice availability depends on the device and browser.

  • Generate cards and decks on Android

    In the separate Android app, a downloaded on-device AI model can generate cards or a deck on supported devices, without internet.

Prepare while you are online

Download the language packs you need in the Android app before you lose your connection. If your device supports on-device card generation, download its AI model too.

  • Install Rememberry from Google Play for offline translation.
  • Open Offline translation in the Android app menu and download the language packs you need. Automatic language detection needs its own model.
  • Pronunciation automatically falls back to an offline voice when the selected voice needs a connection, if one is available for the language.
  • To generate cards offline on a supported Android device, select On-device model in Generate Cards and download it while online.

Offline availability

Which offline features need the separate Android app?
Offline translation needs downloaded language packs in the Android app. On-device card and deck generation is also available there after a model download on supported devices. The browser-installed web app supports offline study, card and deck management, Playback, and pronunciation when an offline voice is available.
What still needs a connection?
Download language packs and the AI model while online. Sync, external AI chat, AI practice and online dictionary details also need a connection. With Pro, cards and study progress sync after you reconnect.
Which Android devices support on-device card and deck generation?
Card and deck generation need Android 8.0 or later and a device supported by Google’s on-device AI model. Check Google’s current device list. In Rememberry, open Generate Cards and select On-device model to check whether the model is available or can be downloaded on your device. The on-device model has fewer capabilities than cloud AI and may be less accurate.
Which devices and languages support offline translation?
Offline translation uses Google ML Kit on Android 6.0 or later and needs Google Play services. Check Google’s supported translation languages, then download the packs you need in the Android app under Offline translation. Availability also depends on whether the packs can be downloaded on your device.
