Grammar and usage
German marks three genders and four cases through articles, pronouns and adjective endings. The finite verb takes the second structural position in a typical main clause, while subordinate clauses commonly send it toward the end.
What to notice as a learner
Save nouns with their article and plural (der Tisch, die Tische) and verbs in sentences that expose case and word order. Split a compound into parts and read from the final noun outward.
